Ipswich Winter Ball

Ipswich Community House to Open on January 2, 2026

In 2022, Ipswich Citizens For The Arts was founded as a group of Ipswich artists, civic leaders, and individuals engaged in creating opportunities and environments for the arts to thrive in Ipswich, and began exploring the use of a historic building. Serendipitously, the Living Faith United Methodist Church at 31 North Main St. was considering options for sharing their facility.

The collapse of the sanctuary ceiling in 2018 led to an initiative by the local congregation and the United Methodist Church New England Conference to restore the building and bring it up to date. The Ipswich Community House and the Methodist Church will share the facility and expenses. Community House will be available for free, paid, and community-sponsored events.

Renovation of the building has been completed, and the Ipswich Community House has scheduled its first event for January 2, 2026, when the Ipswich Winter Ball will be held in the renovated sanctuary.

The new open layouts of the Living Faith Methodist Church sanctuary and fellowship hall are ideal for a wide range of activities. We envision it as a place for theater, music, art, lectures, exhibits, rummage sales, indoor recreation, and other possibilities we haven’t dreamed of.
