Kitty Robertson’s Measuring time—by an hourglass
is an exquisite collection of essays, reflections on a 20th century life in small town New England that first were published in the Ipswich Chronicle. Kitty was also the author of “The Orchard: A Memoir“.
“Look through my eyes for a little while,” Kitty invites, “and may what you see bring you the joy it brings to me.”

Mmmm…just received a copy of Hourglass from Betsy…I read the pages indexed on Google, but when they ran out, knew I had to read MORE…I love this book almost as much as I love Orchard…growing up in Ipswich, these writings remind me so much of my own times…I barely remember Kitty as a child, but I at least knew she had something to do with the Chronicle, and that she was considered a local “fixture”.
