Welcome to America’s best-preserved 17th-century town. The Ipswich Visitor Center is in the 1820 Hall-Haskell House at 36 S. Main St. and operates spring through fall, with friendly volunteers providing abundant information, maps, and brochures. The left side of the Hall-Haskell house features a gallery showcasing various local & regional artists, with a new display changing weekly from June through October. The Ipswich Visitor Center is supported by the Essex National Heritage Area and is affiliated with the Greater Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce.
The Ipswich Visitor Center opens for the 2026 season on Saturday, May 23 (Memorial Day Weekend). We’re open seven days a week from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, except for Mondays, when the hours are 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.
